About These Tools
Who Am I
A BMS Test Engineer and the author of these host tools.
No one knows better than me:
Test engineers are the heaviest and longest-term users of host tools.
We don't just "know how to use them" — we stare at them for hours, days, even weeks at a time.
Why I Built These Tools
The reason is simple: I was burned badly by my former colleague's tools.
Problems with the old tools:
- Unstable CAN connection
- High CPU and memory usage
- Occasional crashes and data loss
- Laggy interface with unintuitive operations
These issues directly led to:
- Unreliable test data
- Difficulty reproducing problems
- Extremely inefficient on-site troubleshooting
So, I decided to build my own.
Being Honest About the Technology
These tools were completed in 2025.
- Learning resources were limited at the time, so the code quality is far from elegant
- Looking back now, it's indeed a pile of
spaghetti code - Today I have better architectural skills and code aesthetics, though there is still a gap compared to
professionalhost tool developers
But the reality is:
- After two years of work, my energy has gradually been drained
- Free time is limited and needs to be shared with other hobbies and life
So, refactoring is on hold, but usability will not be compromised.
My Definition of "Good Software"
An excellent industrial host tool
does not depend on how brilliant the developer is,
but on whether it is simple, easy to use, and lag-free.
This is the standard I set for myself and the promise I make to users:

- ✅ Stable connection, no drops
- ✅ Accurate data, no loss
- ✅ Low resource usage, no lag
That's the true standard in the industrial control world.
